Liverpool is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Liverpool is located 32 km south-west of the Sydney central business district, and is the administrative centre of the local government area of the City of Liverpool. It was identified in the New South Wales Government's Sydney Metropolitan Strategy as a Regional City, placing it alongside Parramatta and Penrith as one of the major centres in the Greater Sydney area. Liverpool is colloquially known as 'Livo'.
